This Cookie Policy explains how Scovai ("we", "us", "our") uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit our website at scovai.com or use our platform. It explains what these technologies are, why we use them, and your rights to control their use.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device (computer, tablet, or phone) when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work efficiently, provide usage information, and enable certain features. Cookies can be "session" cookies (deleted when you close your browser) or "persistent" cookies (remaining until they expire or you delete them).
2. Cookies We Use
2.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies
These cookies are essential for the Platform to function. They cannot be disabled.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
accessToken | Authentication: carries your signed-in session to the platform | Up to 7 days, replaced each time you sign in |
actAsToken_… | Partner support session: a scoped token set when a partner opens a client workspace to help with setup | Up to 15 minutes |
partner-slug, partner-branding, partner-custom-domain | White-label resolution: which partner's branding and domain to render | 24 hours |
2.2 Functional Cookies
These cookies remember your preferences and settings to provide a better experience.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
NEXT_LOCALE | Remembers your language preference | 12 months |
preferred-theme | Remembers your light or dark display preference, across scovai.com subdomains | 12 months |
partner-theme-mode | The display mode a partner sets for its own white-label domain | 12 months |
lastWorkArea | Remembers which area of the workspace you used last, so we reopen it | 12 months |
scovai_phone_verify_dismissed | Remembers that you dismissed the phone-verification reminder | 30 days |
scovai_recruiter | On a shared Talent Passport page, remembers a viewing recruiter's own details so they are not retyped | 30 days |
2.3 Analytics Cookies
We do not use analytics cookies and we have no third-party analytics service on the website or the platform. If we introduce analytics cookies in the future, we will update this policy and request your consent before setting them.
3. Third-Party Cookies and Third-Party Requests
We do not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels. We do not sell data to third parties and we do not allow third-party advertising networks to set cookies on our site. No third party sets a cookie through our pages.
Two third parties do see a request from your browser, without setting a cookie. The website loads its typefaces from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com), so your IP address and browser details reach Google when a page loads. The scovai.com website is delivered through Cloudflare, which processes request metadata as our content-delivery provider; the platform, the API and the workspace are served directly from our own infrastructure. Both are listed in our Privacy Policy.
4. How to Manage Cookies
You can control cookies through:
4.1 Browser Settings
Most browsers allow you to refuse or delete cookies through their settings. The exact process varies by browser:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and Security → Cookies
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
- Edge: Settings → Privacy, Search, and Services → Cookies
Note that disabling strictly necessary cookies may prevent the Platform from functioning correctly.
4.2 Cookie Consent
We do not display a cookie consent banner, and we do not set a cookie to record cookie preferences. The cookies we set are the strictly necessary and functional cookies listed in Section 2. If we introduce cookies that require consent, such as analytics or advertising cookies, we will add a consent banner before setting them and update this policy.
5. Similar Technologies
In addition to cookies, we use:
- Local Storage: your browser's local storage holds your session token and refresh token, and for administrators an administration token; a copy of your plan and of the features enabled for your organisation; your currency preference; and interface preferences such as sort order and which panels you left open. The tokens are sent to our API with your requests, so this is not information that stays on your device.
- Session Storage: used for temporary data during your active session. Cleared when you close the browser tab.
We do not use tracking pixels, web beacons or similar cross-site tracking technologies, and job-listing view counts are de-duplicated server-side without reading anything from your device.
Device check during assessments and interviews. When you take an assessment or a video interview, the platform computes a one-way hash (SHA-256) from characteristics your browser reports: user agent, language, number of processor cores, screen size and colour depth, time-zone offset, and a small rendering sample taken from the canvas and WebGL graphics interfaces. Only the hash is stored, with that session's integrity record, and it serves one purpose: to show whether the session continued on a different device than the one it started on, which is part of the integrity measures that make an assessment result meaningful. It is not used for advertising, for profiling, or to recognise you on other websites, and it is not computed anywhere else on the platform. Integrity records, including this hash, are deleted automatically 365 days after the session, unless a record is subject to a legal hold. The organisation that invited you is the controller of that record; you can ask us or them about it at privacy@scovai.com.
6. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy when we change our cookie practices. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
